Working Mums’ Eternal Battle: Can We Really Have It All?
July 16th, 2012 | PersonalLast week, we wrote a blog post about Rosmili Tati. She’s supermom – she works hard and balances life at home with four little kids.
It raised the eternal question though. Can working mums really have it all? A job we love and work hard at and come home for quality time with our husband and kids?
Here are what three women & a man think:
1/ Stacey Epstein says “yes” and gives us tips in Kids & Career: 5 Ways To Have It All.
2. Anne-Marie Slaughter was the first woman director of policy planning in America’s State Department. This mom of 2 teenaged boys resigned last year because “I want to be home“.
3. Can’t write about this without Facebook’s COO Sheryl Sandberg’s input, right? Sheryl said, “I walk out of this office every day at 5:30 so I’m home for dinner with my kids at 6:00, and interestingly, I’ve been doing that since I had kids.”
4. And finally, Ian Lang tells us what he thinks of women AND men having it all in his “Balancing Work & Family” video.
Oh boy. This one’s tough. What do you think? What’s your opinion?

Interesting topic at all times! I’m a working mother with long working hours. It is really not easy at all..it is very important to have the other half being supportive as well.

That’s true, Alice. Did you watch the Anne-Marie video? She said even though her husband helps alot, she still felt she should resign. Each family has our own ways to dealing with this, I guess. Nothing’s written on stone so the key is to adapt as we go along, maybe?
